Traditional and Digital Graphic Design

I'm working on some FFXIV fanart atm, using ArtRage and my intuos! It's kinda on hiatus, but I do want to work on it over the winter break.

Lulz gief Intuos : O I only have a Bamboo. And I haven't even installed ArtRage yet, is it any good? I got the impression that it's crap from others. I've only used Photoshop and some Corel Painter X with my tablet. Oh, and MS Paint too ofc : D

ATM I'm currently working on a digipaint sig. I'm using Mitsurugi from the Soul series as a reference : D

ArtRage is actually extremely powerful if you know traditional painting techniques at all. I know someone who can use it to perform miracles, and lives and dies by the program. I personally find it to be a rather robust and forgiving sketching app, although I can't seem to make the paint work the way it should.

Although I think Corel Painter is the best painting/drawing/sketching application atm. Atleast it's the most used. : D But yeah, I'll look into ArtRage.

ArtRage and Corel Painter are different beasts of burden for the same burden. A mule may be more versatile, but an ox can pull your shit across state lines.

We'll let Akuma decide if they're on topic or not :P Wouldn't be hard to make a gif thread, too.

Tsao is God among Artists, he chisels stone and granite to make Cherubs and Angels for my summer home, he creates masterpieces from a single pen on a napkin while eating lunch. Yes Tsao is incredible. He even climbs large mountains. Who knew?

Tsao is indeed amazing. His art is like love with shape and color.

I'm wondering what art project I should tackle next... I've got a few on my plate.

There's my Roe'gadyn fanart (the galka from FFXIV), where I'll be drawing my character before I make it... just to get more excited about it.

Then there's the D&D game I play in, where I'd like to draw all the party members having fun.

Then, I should really draw my own image for the banner, or at least alter a photo to look more fantastic.

AAAAND the site could also use its own custom icons throughout the forum and such.

I'll post some of my progress a bit later. I've got a lot on my plate for this winter break!

The DnD one sounds like the most fun to me. But the site stuff is probably more urgent. But if you've got FF XIV on the brain the roe'gadyn would probably ease that. In other words,I dont know.

I need to finish the Mitsurugi Digipaint... I've just finished the face and some of the clothes...

I've taken a liking to etching/monoprints, they're a bit old /shrug

It's an interesting process, I would love to do more but I don't have all the resources to do them at the moment. What I love is the metallic gleam of the plate.

The brown stuff here, is a dried liquid that protects the plate from the acid, it's uhh hard to describe...

out of curiosity can anyone tell that that's actually three different pieces edited together? I didnt draw it but I did put it together and I want to know what other people think. And comment on the picture too,if you want i'll probably show the guy who drew it any advice you give.

As an abstract work, it's very interesting. If it's trying to define its own proportions and then add a sense of perspective with the "legs" there, then I think the guy needs to make that back leg much smaller, or the front ones much bigger. His head also doesn't seem to be on his body, just kinda hanging off, because it's not balanced on the neck. I like the shoulders a lot, and the arms. The legs are very interesting, makes me wonder what the heck happened to the guy.
