Nintendo achievements and metagames.

So I was thinking about how I compulsively finish every given aspect of Zelda games, out of wanting to play them more than possible. Then, I thought, what if Zelda games had an achievement system? I would suspect they'd be fairly forgiving, in that there wouldn't be any achievements you couldn't go back later and get, though maybe there would be a handful that would only apply on a second playthrough, like completing it with 3 hearts. So, the question is, minus story elements and completion tasks, what would achievements for Twilight Princess be?

Here's the obvious ones:

Completed dungeon:
Forest Temple
Goron Mines
Lakebed Temple
Arbiter's Grounds
Snowpeak Ruins
City in the Sky
Palace of Twilight
Hyrule Castle

Collected all:
Bugs
Poes
Heart Pieces
Bottles
Magic Armor
fish

other
-sword skills
-cave of ordeals
-rollgoal

SO BASICALLY. The question is, what other things would be hard to do in this game? You know how like in Halflife 2, you get an achievement for only using your pistol throughout a playthrough. The 3 heart completion could be one such thing... or maybe there's some small very difficult task, like hopping a spinner across a certain spot... Any ideas?

Also, to make this broader, what would achievements be for other Nintendo games?

It's kinda funny how few things there seem to be within the game that would be "additional" achievements, beyond the scope of completing the game. If you "100%" the game, collecting all heart pieces, poes, etc, you might as well have gotten all possible achievements. On top of that, there's only like, fly 400 feet with a cucco, or control a cucco past something crazy.

So, what other games can you think of achievements for?

Or perhaps, there's a "metagame" within the game, where you change the traditional rules of the game and somehow change it up. Some obvious examples would be a 3 hearts completion of a Zelda game, but then I've also heard of running away from 1ups in Mario 64, or "Left 4 Friends." The latter entails playing versus mode in Left 4 Dead, but instead of fighting the other Infected player characters, you work with them. Guess it works better in Left 4 Dead 2, though.

Anyway, just trying to find different ways to play a game.

Complete the original Metroid with only the necessary upgrades (I can't remember them right now.. : D, but there were some upgrades that weren't necessary to finish the game)

Nuzlocke mode for Pokemon (named for a comic depicting this attempt):

Release any Pokemon on your team that dies.
Only catch the first Pokemon you see in an area.
Optional/Hard mode: Don't using healing items in battle.

I know Mashira has tried this - how is it going?

I have thought about this a lot of times. The Ps3 has trophies and The 360 has Game-score. Nintendo should have Coins. Like Yellow Coin = Bronze trophy, Red Coin=Silver trophy and Blue Coin=Gold Coin. The Platinum trophy could be a Star. Every time u get 100 % u get a star.

Good achievements that would fit Zelda

-One man Army: Beat every enemy once in the game
-No ordeal to Hard: Clear the Cave of ordeals
-Ordeal master: Clear the Cave of Ordeals in less then 14 mins
-Fisherman: Catch Every Fish
-Legendary Fisherman: Catch the Hylian Loach without the Sinking Lure
-Rules are for Fools: Find the Sinking Lure
-Ride from Ordon Village to Lake Hylia in 4 minutes
-No time for games: Winn at least once in every minigame

Wow, nice, you even came up with names for them. They almost seem more exciting with names!
