I am completely at a loss for what music is good these days. I skip past more than half the songs on my ipod, and I find myself easily bored by a lot of stuff people usually say is good. SO I MADE THIS THREAD.

edited because I read what I wrote at first and hated myself.

Just keep telling each other what music you want people to listen to.

Hmm... you like british poprock... check out a band called Traffic Island, it's a finnish indie rock band, and it's very good IMO.

so yeah...

I listen to a lot of emo stuff too (powerpop, synthpop, post-hardcore, deathcore, metalcore and the likes) but I don't think that's what you're looking for : D

I do kinda like them, any other songs you'd recommend?

And there are some metal/speedmetal/crazyshit songs that I like. I mean, who doesn't like Dragonforce?

Well I'm a big David Bowie Fan ^.^ so anything by him is awesome to me.
I also love The Smashing Pumpkins, I pretty much own everything they have ever put out and even some live concerts someone recorded. Pretty much my fav band.

I also love The Smiths/The Cure/New Order/Depeche Mode-many 80's bands.
I have a pretty eclectic variation of music I like. Anything soulful and jazzy. I don't care for country or rap all that much, I can probably count on one hand the amount of songs from both of those genres I like.

I love Anime OST's and Video Game Soundtracks. My fav's are Silent Hill (Akira Yamaoka) and Ghost in the Shell (Yokko Kanno), and of course Final Fantasy (Nobuo Uematsu) I have a sick fascination and love for J-Pop and all it's syrupy goodness included lol. My likes are: Utada/Namie Amuro/Gackt/Minmi/Kanon Wakeshima/M-flo/Yuki

I love Classical Music too-Bach/Mozart/Beethoven/Schubert/Brahms/Strauss/Tchaikovsky

Classic Rock is a must and takes up a great deal of my music collection. I have far too many to list. I recently added all of my albums/CD's to my Itunes and realized I have over 250 gigs of music. For me that's alot, and I'm not bragging because some people probably have like some ridiculous number like an effin terabyte but that's exactly how much I have, give or take a couple megs lol. Although I'm sure in 30 years people tend to accumulate a lot of music to their collection. =)

Okay I've rambled enough. lol

Yes! I have listened to her English but I prefer the Japanese. I have a couple Korean pop songs in my collection, I honestly would have to look it up tho lol. I do have a weak spot for Korean Dramas though, I know pathetic because you'd never catch me watching American Soaps, but I think the Korean ones are awesome haha!

Err...Music tends to affect my mood too much.. xD so i try not to listen to certain kinds.. (emo music) (hard core music) things like that.. :D

But, i do listen to queen, ozzy, beatles, maroon 5, beethoven, bach, berlioz, Mozart
but thats just me.. :D i only listen to certain kinds of music when doing certain things. because of the effect it has towards my performance.. :3

but if i were to recommend any.. it would definitely be the beatles. and some Beethoven and Mozart.. :D tends to calm me down.. and help me think.

And also.. when i go to play a game.. i like to listen to some techno.. >:3

Kijou recommended Mumford and Sons to me like, four months ago and ive had Little Lion Man sitting on my desktop since then, and id listen to it once in a great while, but when I got to alaska I started listening to music a bit more and got their album, which I love. So give 'em a shot.

The album Brothers by the Black Keys. Just an awesome album. Might otherwise nudge toward John Williams. And orchestral music in general. I really enjoy listening to it.

Ahh, how could I forget Tom Waits? I have Rain Dogs at home (well, my dad has), and I've listened through it quite a few times. He also appeared in Shrek 2, contributing to the awesomest family comedy of all time.

His entire discography is on Spotify if you use it - I think just to hear some of the amazing diversity in what he does I'd recommend "Martha" (from his very first album - VERY different from his later stuff), "What's He Building In There" and "Jesus Blood Never Failed Me Yet".

And for anyone who's seen it, he's the devil (aka Mr. Nick) in the epic Terry Gilliam film The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus :3
