Berserk is a gritty, semi-realistic manga set in medieval england. The story follows our grim hero "Gutts" on his mysterious quest. He's pursued by all manner of demons, bandits, elves and the like. I started reading Berserk 4 days ago and I'm about to start on volume 15 now... Holy hell I say. Might become the first manga since DragonBall that I'm going to buy. Lurve it.
I'm glad you like it! I just reread berserk and I really forgot how bloody and rapey this beast was. I also forgot how much I loved puck! Somehow that little sunnuvabitch brought some GREAT comic relief into a manga composed mostly of rape, demons, gore, demon rape, raping demons, gory demon rape, and good ole' fashioned rape.

If you do go after that I suggest you use some command codes (Press the tilde key "~" and click a target and type "kill" for instance. Or "TGM" for god mode.) Because the guy who designed that decided that having two super powerful guys guard the armor and sword would be hilarious. I have no idea what's going on with the griffith armor pictured there, I never really cared enough to find out since I hate him.

Well! I kinda of stopped after volume 19, the "flashback" was so epic, and the slow pace kinda bored me. So I moved on to some other things. I will pick back up later.
I'm starting (and finishing) volume 22 tomorrow... and I haven't been bored for a single second when reading it @_@

Ahhhh, I've been taking a break from this, but I'm tempted to go back to it now that I have some time to kill.
I really hate the update schedule with berserk. I wouldnt mind getting it once a month with a little less quality, but four months in between chapters and then only getting 40 pages of content pisses me off.

Did anyone hear the rumor about how Miura was on hiatus for so long because he was addicted to Idol Master? It is old news, but everyone I know (that reads Berserk) I've talked to about it doesn't seem to know what the hell I'm talking about, and that was two years ago.

If it's true it looks like he still is since it's been three months since the last chapter I think.
I have read the newest chapters. I am disappointed that there have only been twelve chapters added since where I left off, and that was three years ago. :\ Though I suppose I'll take anything I can get and try to push it out of my mind between installments.

- It will begin as a series of movies, being referred as the "Berserk Saga"
- The first movie will be released somewhere near June (half a year)
- The series will adapt the whole story.
- CGI will be the main animation method
- The movie series might spawn an OVA/series in the future

I've read about 200 chapters now, and I gotta say, this is one impressive beast of a story.
It has some low points, where the author seems to be masturbating onto the page, but it has a lot of strengths, too.
I can't believe he said he's only like halfway done with this thing.
