Dragon Age 2 Demo is Live

The demo version of Dragon Age II has been released!
The demo takes place at the start of the game with Hawke arriving in Kirkwall and meeting a possible romantic interest; Isabela. After playing through the demo you will unlock an in-game item for the full version of Dragon Age II: Hayder's Razor, which seems to be at least moderately powerful. And as if that wasnt enough reason to be mashing that 'DOWNLOAD NOW' button, when one million demos have been downloaded and played Bioware will unlock two more in-game items for the whole community. They're both books and each gives you a small boost "Lothering's Lament" gives an XP boost and "The Far Cliffs of Kirkwall" gives the player a currently unstated amount of money.
Right now the servers seem to be pretty busy, so i'm waiting for my download to finish, but as soon as it does i'll be sure to report back on what I find.

I downloaded and played the demo at the same time Jax did and it's pretty damn good. I read a couple articles describing the character and that the demo is actually very similar if not exactly like the beginning of the actual game. Just like in Assassins Creed (first one) we see the character at it's height. We get a feel of whats to come. And I like that. So being able to bust out some high level spells (for the Mage) or Special Attacks is pretty cool. So it gives you a taste of what you can do later. On a side note the developers of this game had stated in an article that the average initial player only plays for 6hrs and quits. So they figured giving the gamer a taste of whats to come gives more interest in playing longer, I think that's more towards non-avid rpgers.
I think the new battle system is far more responsive with the same feel of the previous game, while speeding up the actual battle time. I like the actions, keeps the gamer interested and if Final Fantasy hasn't proven that shiny, sparkly cool weapons and versatile moves sells, I don't know what does. I like the changes on the wheel. I can't wait to see the equip menu and avatar creation. This demo was very limited and rightfully so. It's more just a sip of a giant gulp we all want to take. I also like that you have more options in communication (similar to ME). And I like that your character is no longer a lifeless soul-less avatar. It actually changes it's behavior when you communicate and has expression-able faces. Those things are important to people that actually enjoy the game in it's entirety. RPGers want to BE part of it. Not just experience it, these tiny details are always noticed by hardcore fans.
I think Bioware has created a serious winner here. We'll see how it goes. I know for myself I cannot wait, and March 8th cannot come soon enough. lol.
I played it and I LOOOOOOOVE the fighting style! especially on rogue. hopeful for good customization options for the character, and i guess i can live with the fact im human...ill just pretend in my head that im actually a really badass dragon *closes eyes* yeaaah...dragon....
THAT DRAGON BITCH PISSED ME OFF BY THE WAY. I WANNA BE A DRAGON DAMMIT! DX
im sad theres no shapeshifting class v.v that was what my mage was...and i think they need a scythe *crosses arms* you wouldnt believe how few games actually have scythes. its like...the awesomest weapon!
but anyways, i plan on getting it. was gonna get the new pokemon but i can hold off on that cuz...dragon age.
Played it and am terribly disappointed. I feel like I might not even get the game. Nothing like the DA I love :(
I don't understand what was so wrong about it?
It was really cinematic and character driven- Hawke is a personable character you start to feel for. I thought it greatly improved the concepts from the first game, giving us a better venue for the story than we had. The fighting is different, but I would also imagine the mage plays more like it did in the first game for you PC users.
I really don't think motionless grey warden was a very appealing character.
Busy indeed, seems it's going to be some time before the download finishes for me too.
Thanks for this Mash.
