The Cake wasn't a lie!
Okay, real quick post. Portal (That ever so awesome game) is currently available at the Steam store. Not big news you say? Slooooowpoke you say? YOU SAY WRONG! For the first time in ever Portal is up......for FREE!
http://store.steampowered.com/freeportal/ (Web-page is no longer up.)
If you have never had the chance to play this wonderful game, here's your chance. AND GUESS WHAT ELSE! It doesn't matter if you're using some sort of non-gaming operating system (Mac) because steam is now fully functional on Macs! Make sure you act soon, though. You've only got until May 24th to pick up your 100% FREE copy of Portal! Now, if Jonathan Coulton could lead us out in song, please.

It's still a lie...at least for me. :( I'm on day 2 of just trying to download it. Sadly this is why I don't spend much time w/online gaming, or well much of anything online.
Oh well, enjoy the cake!
sorry to hear your connection is still bad.
Cake at last! or well, you know what I mean. :) I just have to ask since this is my 1st time playing Portal: just how many levels are there really?
I am enjoying this though, I can see why it's become a "classic" it's an interesting departure on stragey gaming.
Get cake!
20ish I think.
i hope they release call of duty and l4d so i can play with my buddies
*gets it*
games currently available for steam on mac that are worth your time:
portal
world of goo
torchlight
monkey island stuff
sam and max stuff
civ4 (I guess...)
there's probably others! I haven't had to know about steam games for a long time!
Looks like you'll be able to add team fortress2 to that list tomorrow.

while we're on the topic of steam:

TL;DR: All four major Oddworld games will be available on Steam as the "Oddbox". They'll also be available on PSN. I never got the chance to play Stranger’s Wrath and I hope to rectify that.
Look for that sometime in the winter.
oddworld, huh? That's never really been on my radar - maybe it should be?
Alot of people compare the oddworld franchise with tim schafer games. Its been awhile since i've played one but I remember my time spent playing it fondly.
I <3 Oddworld! Other Steam games that certainly deserves playing are Braid and Machinarium! They're both artsy puzzle games. <3
have you played strangers wrath? Was it any good? I heard alot of mixed reactions from it.
